BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 38th season of Patriot League football will be in full swing, with the League’s seven programs taking the field in Week One. Lehigh welcomes Villanova for a noon game at Goodman Stadium to open the day of action on ESPN+ before Bucknell, Fordham and Lafayette kick-off at 6 p.m. to conclude the day of action. Two Patriot League teams matchup against FBS opponents this weekend (Colgate at Syracuse and Bucknell at James Madison).

The Colgate football family mourns the passing of legendary head coach Dick Biddle, who passed away at 75 in August. Biddle led the Raiders’ program from 1996-2013, departing as the winningest football coach in Colgate and Patriot League history.

GEORGETOWN HOYAS

The Hoyas have announced that graduate student wide receiver Tiy Reed has been selected as the 19th recipient of the No. 35 Joe Eacobacci Memorial Jersey for the 2023 campaign. Reed continues a tradition that began in 2003, honoring the legacy of Eacobacci, a former Georgetown football captain who was lost on Sept. 11 during the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Seniors Mike Barr, Marco Olivas, Carl Smith and Saiku White have taken over the leadership reins of the Lafayette football team in 2023, selected as recipients of the Chris LaPietra ’89 Captain Award for the 142nd season. The four captains for the 2023 season were selected by the team.

The Lehigh football program announced its captains for the 2023 season, including fifth-year defensive lineman Dean Colton, senior linebacker Mike DeNucci and senior center George Padezanin. Colton and Padezanin will serve as captains for the second consecutive season.
