Jake Paul, Gas Monkey’s Richard Rawlings team up to support youth boxing in Dallas

Want to be ringside when Jake Paul faces Nate Diaz at American Airlines Center on Aug. 5? The YouTube-turned-boxing star is offering up that chance.

In a partnership with Dallas-based Gas Monkey Garage, Paul’s nonprofit organization “Boxing Bullies” and Most Valuable Promotions are having a limited-time, donation-based giveaway ahead of the fight in Dallas, featuring a grand prize that includes ringside seats, plus a Gas Monkey Garage customized 2023 Dodge Ram TRX truck designed by Paul and Richard Rawlings.

Paul and Rawlings, founder and owner of Gas Monkey Garage, made it official Wednesday on YouTube. The giveaway is now open to entries on the Monkey Garage website, and will run through July 20.

The sweepstakes has a $5 minimum for donations with increments of higher dollar amounts for more chances to win. There is also an option to enter for free. Those who hit certain “maximum” fundraising thresholds will be eligible to win additional prizes.

All proceeds will support Boxing Bullies and its anti-bullying initiatives, including the nonprofit’s latest gym renovation planned in Dallas for the benefit of youth boxers in the community.

“It is extremely meaningful to us at Boxing Bullies to launch this giveaway to further our organization’s incredible work throughout the United States,” said Paul.

“Thank you to Gas Monkey Garage and Richard Rawlings for collaborating with us on this unique opportunity to celebrate our fans, while also combating bullying and empowering the youth in Dallas and across the U.S. through the sport of boxing.”

The grand prize winner will also receive airfare and lodging for two for the Paul-Diaz fight weekend, two ringside tickets next to Rawlings, donated by Most Valuable Promotions, along with a fight night meet-and-greet with Paul backstage.

In addition, the Paul-Diaz title sponsor, Celsius, will be donating a year’s supply of its energy drinks to the winner.

“Imagine the amount we could raise for Boxing Bullies if everyone gave just one dollar,” said Rawlings. “We’re incredibly grateful to collaborate with Jake Paul and Boxing Bullies for this impactful project that will support youth here in Dallas and across the United States.”

All entrants who donate $2,500 will receive a “Boxing Bullies-Gas Monkey Garage swag bag,” which will include signed merchandise from both Paul and Rawlings. Those who donate $5,000 will also have their name engraved on a plaque, which will hang in the initiative’s renovated gym in Dallas.

The Paul-Diaz fight was announced in April, and will be take place at 185 pounds. The bout was announced for eight rounds, but verbal jabs from Diaz at a May press conference and some recent social media chatter between the two at least appears to leave the door cracked open to a 10-round fight, even with Diaz tweeting he was “good” with eight on Tuesday.

Amanda Serrano defending her crown as the undisputed featherweight champion in a rematch against Heather Hardy will serve as the card’s co-main event.

Paul (6-1, 4 KOs) will be looking to bounce back from his split-decision defeat against Tommy Fury in February, his first loss as a professional boxer.

“Both of us have a lot on the line. And I think that’s what’s going to make this an interesting fight and a war because neither one of us are going to back down, even after getting popped,” Paul told The News in May.

“I’m excited to go in there and prove a lot of people wrong and get back on a winning path.”

Diaz, who will be making his professional boxing debut, went 22-13 in his UFC career, and was involved in a backstage altercation before Paul’s fight against Anderson Silva last October.
