ChatGPT Is A Mass Murderer Of Creativity

I fully agree with what I have an opinion about advanced AI tools like ChatGPT. This AI can replace humans. It has already succeeded in doing so. Many tech people with skills that were repetitive have lost their jobs to ChatGPT.

Every time I believed that the creativity and art of humans can never be replaced by any machine or software. I was wrong, absolutely wrong. Today, many people across the globe have lost their jobs to this AI chatbot.

We were all excited about how this ChatGPT just a couple of days reached one million users in November 2022, surpassing Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms. It got flooded with users with each passing day. Students, professionals, business owners, and companies were fascinated by its prompt response.

They were all using it for their own benefit and use. But not everyone realizes how dangerous it could have become every single day the questions being asked to make it smart and most intelligent AI.

I see it as the greatest threat to the security of any country. Criminals can use it for seeking information about crimes and learn tactics for committing them in cities. This AI-powered tool doesn’t provide any source or credibility for the information that it gives to the users.

To my understanding, it is just an application or software that builds up to make people’s tasks easier and make them unemployed by bringing the most creativity and perfection in its prompt response.

This is the reality of life that we need to acknowledge. Creative writers, tech professionals, and those people whose work was repetitive in nature have all been laid off by their employers when this AI was launched. When I was browsing the internet I read a few articles on how ChatGPT has made the lives of people miserable and misfortune.

One aspiring writer from some part of India was earning Rs. 19,000 per month while she was pursuing her post-graduation. She was doing her ghostwriting and copywriting work for various clients and agencies. The day when ChatGPT was launched, and within a few months, her job got affected, her writing projects got reduced to 90%, and she was left with having one project or writing task in a month. She eventually lost her job to ChatGPT.

I was luckier than her, even though with advances in AI and the launch of ChatGPT, my mentor and boss Sunil sir, never told me to quit my job as a writer. He advised me to take up some technical job or learn new skills. I faced many rejections and lost many job offers due to this job killer.

When I was applying online for jobs in the writing field, I was approached by many companies and many HR’s have interviewed me over the phone. But then reaching the final round of writing and submitting the writing task to them, I didn’t receive a single feedback or response from them.

The reason for rejection could be that employers wanted someone who can better write in a similar way or sounds nature better than ChatGPT, so they might have come to a point where they decided to drop my application because ChatGPT was their alternative choice of writer.

I have attended countless interviews over the phone since this highly advanced featured AI was launched. Every single day was becoming a challenge for me to do something new or change the field of specialization. In a hunt for a better job and handsome paycheck, I came over here to Dubai.

Still, I am finding it utmost difficult to find a job as a full-time or freelance content writer. My portfolio disclosing every detail from my educational qualification, work experience, and writing projects that I worked on visible to employers is getting unnoticed on Fiverr and Upwork platforms. I didn’t get a single writing project to this day.

ChatGPT has become a nightmare for me; I am not able to sleep at night over the fear of not finding a job and returning back to India. What vision do the creators of this AI have in their minds while developing such advanced robots, chatbots, and applications?

They have created such an advance featured version of AI which is a job destroyer of humans. This really increases the work efficiency and productivity of human beings, but at the same time, we as humans are becoming blindfolded victims of its exemplary writing and not realizing how negatively it can have a prolonged impact on our lives, relationships, and jobs. We are all largely depending on it for every common task that we do in our day-to-day lives.

Every tiny or big thing of an individual is done by AI. Alexa and Siri are typical examples of this. Workers’ and employees’ skillets are not getting much better but lacking creative and logical thinking when it comes to finding a solution to any problems they face within their work because they are taking the help of this writing assistant. Creativity, art, and culture are the three main aspects of life that are getting destroyed by this AI.

A creative individual’s creativity is compromised and ignored as one can easily use ChatGPT to develop similar apps, website designs, content, and creative copy writings. You won’t believe it now, but the time is very near when we all will regret of using AI tools, software, and applications in our workplace or for personal use.

Once think for a while how come a person like me having five years of professional full-time writing experience, who has been doing the same job for most of his employment time, is not able to crack the toughest job market, and not able to get a good job in his own field or in another job role despite hard efforts.

The job market has become so fragile that I don’t think so there will be so many job opportunities for aspiring graduates and experienced professionals in the near future. Most of the jobs are already taken by AI now and later we could witness mass unemployment. We are already seeing it across the world in the face of economic uncertainty, ongoing recession, and high inflation.

I fear for my own existence in this world as a writer. I fear I will not be able to continue my writing job anymore. I fear that writers will lose their jobs. There will be no longer a need for writers for companies. My future is on a cliff of falling apart. I don’t see a bright future in the writing or creative field anymore. I am desperately waiting for the right opportunity. Certainly, I will find it very soon.

I am a positive thinker and action-doer. We all should not be relying on one skill or job role, we are living in such a transition period where we should adopt new things, invest in our learning, and pick up the best-growing field that is the future.

I even fear for my child’s future. The career decision mistakes that I made in my past, I don’t want him to make it similarly. I will make the best version of him. To grow in his life and career, I want him to focus on skills and knowledge that will not make him earn bread and butter but make him grow in every step of his professional career.
