8 Wrestling Winning Streaks Absolutely No One Cared About

A winning streak in professional wrestling can be a fantastic storyline and when done right it has the potential to get someone over in a big way. The likes of Goldberg and Asuka put together incredible undefeated streaks that helped to make them look like megastars, and they are something that people always talk about and remember.

However, that isn't the case for every winning streak that has been created in wrestling history. Certain talents were given big winning streaks that ultimately had no real impact and were quickly forgotten about with fans simply not caring even when they were happening.

8 Tatanka

Tatanka Cropped

Tatanka is somebody that a lot of fans likely don't remember having a lengthy undefeated streak, but the former WWE Superstar went without a loss for over a year. That amount of consistency is something that could've led to a big run for Tatanka, but the issue was the company never pushed him during this.

He was kept at the same level throughout the entire streak which is why fans didn't pay much attention because they were given no reason to care about Tatanka even though he was winning matches.

7 Ryback

When Ryback was first brought to the main roster he was given an undefeated run to build him up as a star at the start of his run. While it helped to make people interested in him, the problem was that the majority of his victories came against enhancement talents that didn't make any impact.

Then when it got to the time he was involved in a major storyline the Big Guy came up short and ended up losing. It ensured that the winning streak had no real impact and gave audiences no reason to care either.

6 Mansoor

By the time Mansoor rocked up on WWE's main roster he had gone almost 50 matches without a defeat in NXT, which also added in several big matches on the Saudi Arabia PPVs. However, this isn't something that anybody really cared or talked about, with WWE not even bringing it up.

While it was obvious that Mansoor hadn't lost in the big Saudi Arabia shows it wasn't something WWE ever chose to capitalize on. He just turned up and then disappeared again, and then the undefeated run was totally forgotten about when he first lost.

5 Tank Abbott

Tank Abbott in WCW

Tank Abbott is an example of WCW's strange booking at times, because the former MMA star was brought into the company with the idea of eventually facing Goldberg. However, Goldberg suffered an injury which meant that match didn't happen, therefore the long winning streak Abbott was given became pointless.

His matches were all very fast, often being squash encounters which was done to hide Abbott's limitations. However, without the same charisma and intensity of Goldberg fans weren't given as much of a reason to care about him, with his eventual loss to Sid Vicious not being something audiences enjoyed.

4 Crimson

Crimson

Crimson was a forgettable wrestler from TNA's history as he wasn't somebody that fans ever got behind, and that was a big reason why his undefeated streak made very little impact. The company looked to put him over massively with a lengthy undefeated run, but it never amounted to anything in the long term.

Instead, he was defeated by James Storm in a match that meant very little to either man, and the impact of his undefeated streak coming to an end didn't make much of an impact. It wasn't something that benefitted Storm, and Crimson's post-winning streak run was equally as forgettable.

3 Vito

When fans think about the Vito character they often question the gimmick that was used and whether or not it brought the best out of him as a performer. However, he did get a winning streak which showcased the company wanted to make him look like an impressive in-ring talent.

However, people didn't care about the character therefore it four-month undefeated streak that he managed wasn't something that connected overall, especially since it randomly ended against Elijah Burke.

2 Lord Tensai

Tensai Vs CM Punk

From the moment Matt Bloom was brought back to WWE and given the Lord Tensai character it was clear it wouldn't end up working out. This is why nobody was shocked when he ended up taking on a more comedic gimmick despite the fact that he had a winning streak early on in this run.

Tensai was built as a monster which led to him running through everybody in his path, including a win over John Cena. However, the second time he faced Cena on an episode of Raw creative decided for Tensai to lose. It instantly brought an end to his dominance and things never got back from that point.

1 Bo Dallas

Bo Dallas

Bo Dallas being brought to the main roster was a big deal at the time because he is someone that was pushed a lot in NXT. However, his time on the main roster didn't end up working out as fans imagined, despite the fact he was initially given an undefeated run in his first couple of months.

It was something that Dallas even brought up himself, but that didn't mean it translated. It never became a big storyline, and the fact he was losing at the same time at the end of his NXT run made this even stranger.
